On Friday, August 26th, José Val del Omar will come to Olárizu pond as part of the festival "Al margen del deterioro" organized by HAZ with the collaboration of Amaia Zorrilla. He is probably one of the most important and unknown figures of experimental, Granada and universal cinema.

José Val del Omar lived and died practically in anonymity and without comfort, despite having won the Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival for technical achievement the same yearBuñuel won the Palme d'Or for 'Viridiana' (1961) . Aman of the avant-garde, a figure somewhere between poet, philosopher and mad scientist , an experimental filmmaker whom some consider to be the lost name of the Generation of '27 and who has been revalued in recent years with several retrospectives, among them the exhibitions dedicated to his work at the Reina Sofia Museum, the last one byNiño de Elche from hisAuto Sacramental Invisible (1949)".
