Within the production of artist's books, the accordion book is one of the major supports, both in single copy productions and in editions of several copies.

It is a simple structure that allows the format and function of a book to be given to a flat work without the need to use seams.

In its multiple models, the accordion is dynamic, inviting an infinite number of interventions on its pages, such as openwork, folds or collages, without presenting complications due to its great adaptation to changes in the volume of its sheets.

The image of the structure/function disappears to give way to the format, the color, the figure, the shape, the plastic image, the elements that compose the work, the texture of the paper...

Contemporary artistic practices from a gender perspective

Day of the week: Wednesday, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

    From November 10, 2021 to February 16, 2022

The objective of the course is to develop an artistic practice that can be exhibited or visualized in which a questioning or discourse about women and their relationship with any area of their environment is raised.

From the hand of great artists and their works through which they present their position in the world as women and their demands in each of the contexts they inhabit, to initiate in the creative process in which form and discourse must have a common goal.

To this end, the tools available in the contemporary artistic framework (ephemeral sculpture, performance, literature, audiovisual recording...) will be used when carrying out a project and the possibilities they offer to the discourse.

In short, to use critical thinking to identify, question and assess the discrimination, inequality and exclusion of women in the private sphere and to use contemporary art as a tool to sow a feminist discourse in society in the face of this reality.
